Robin van Persie signs a deal with the (Red) Devils…
After a long awaited decision from Robin Van Persie and the representatives at Arsenal FC, a deal is done. The Dutch forward will travel to Manchester on Thursday in order to agree on personal terms and complete a medical according to Arsenal.com. What does this mean for the Gunners? With new signings like Cazorla and Podolski, the future looks hopeful. Following a 4-0 win against Cologne, Podolski was given a grand welcome by fans after scoring two goals. On the contrary, RvP was given a cold welcome as fans saw his departure from the club in the near future. As a loyal gooner it certainly disappoints me, but it does not surprise me. Robin van Persie began his career at Arsenal in 2004 and only now decided to move to the third club of his career. Rather than pout and bad-mouth the footballer (we can leave that to Piers Morgan), let us look ahead at the upcoming season and evaluate the club for its performance in the upcoming season. Why is RvP different from Adebayor, Nasri or many of the other major footballers to leave? Because he served more time? Because he was the last strand of hope for the club? Well I say that we dust off our artillery and show the EPL and the world what arsenal we have in store for them.

Is the La Liga the best league in the world?
La Liga has according to UEFA, three of the best players in the world. El Clasico (with Real Madrid and FC Barcelona) can boast three of the all time best players. According to ESPN, a panel of 53 reporters from each UEFA member association decided on Andres Iniesta, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo as the three finalists of 32 players. The winner will be announced live in Monaco on August 30th during the UEFA Champions League group stage draw. Who do you think should win? Let us know here or @lebilandufoot on twitter!

Want to know what is ACTUALLY going on with RVP?
Dutch and Arsenal forward Robin Van Persie has been highly in demand by several clubs as his contract with Arsenal comes to an end in the 2012-13 season. According to Businessweek, the Gunners are demanding 25 million pounds for the trade (approximately 39.22 million US dollars). A more likely negotiation is trading RVP for 22 million pounds (about 34.5 million US dollars). There is a long way before the talks come to a close so just stay tuned to the blog and I’ll be updating regularly as new information becomes available to the public. What does this whole thing mean for Arsenal fans like me? Robin Van Persie, arguably the best Arsenal player of last season, may be traded to the infamous Red Devils. Moving to a club in the same league did not turn out well for Torres (Liverpool to Chelsea). Though RVP may be losing a lot of support (as seen in the match against Cologne through the audience reaction), he could win titles and earn more money with ManU. What do you think about the issue? If you were in RVP’s place what would you do?
